Easter

What a wonderful day it was to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior with brothers and sisters and searching friends. A special invitation went out to many this year as there is more of an openness to attend a service on a significant religious holiday. We stretched the limits of our taverna once again as we had 25 for the service followed by a meal together. Of those in attendance, ten were first-time visitors to a Sunday service. We are studying the Bible with two families who attended but committing to regular church attendance we have noticed is a long and always more complicated process. And of course, they have yet to put their faith in Christ.

Our cool spring weather kept us inside most of the day and around the tables instead. In past years we have gone outside for dessert and a long afternoon of chatting on the front porch while we watch the kids hunt for Easter eggs. Little Emma and Erika got their egg hunt but it was with much less fanfare as we rushed to get it in as people were preparing to leave. With the unusually large crowd this year I was busy running from one kitchen to the other or from guest to guest, so picture taking was not on my mind. However, here is a snapshot into our Resurrection Sunday.
