Chicago

This past week we took a family vacation with Munga, Gramma & Uncle Ben to the city of Chicago. We had a wonderful time exploring and visiting various city attractions thanks to the CityPass. Day 1: We went to the Shedd Acquarium. The kids loved the dolphin show and seeing all the fish, sharks, frogs, lizards and more. We then went to the Field Museum where Samuel was finally able to see some dinosaur bones. He had been talking about dinosaur bones for a really long time. He was thrilled to get a wooden skeleton model of a T-Rex, named "Sue". We went to a Play Lab for the kids inside the museum where they played musical instruments, dressed up as turtles and viewed objects under microscopes. Day 2: We took the L-train in to the city and then used the bus system to get around town. We went to the Museum of Science & Industry and once again the kids loved the whole museum experience. There was so much for them to do and interact with. We then went to the top of the Sears Tower for a magnificent view. We topped the day off by a swim in the pool at the hotel. Day 3: We walked through Millenium Park along the Magnificent Mile before heading home.

We are so thankful for this precious time with family and for the memories that were made together. What a joy it is to see the kids discovering new things with such excitement. They are at such fun ages and I really wish that time could just stand still for a while. So that's the short version and recap of our past week. Obviously everyone was feeling well enough for the trip, for which we are so thankful!

it looked like a really fun time!! I love Chicago...all the kids looked like they had a blast at the museums. I totally wish time could freeze too--the kids are growing up way too fast! Hope all of you are feeling better and stay that way! =) Praying for you guys.
